Architect Dr. Peter Kuczia is an expert in sustainable constructions with more than twenty years of experience, working in Germany and Poland.
In 2008 he completed his Ph.D. dissertation on solar architecture in Germany. He is an author of ‘Educating Buildings – Learning Sustainability through Displayed Design’.
For many years he designed large public and commercial buildings for the agn Group – one of the largest architectural practices in Germany – among them stadiums for the German Bundesliga, university buildings or hospitals. Parallel to this he founded KUCZIA architects and has been successfully concentrating on smaller but ambitious projects.

He has been awarded multiple international prizes, including International Design Award (US), Iconic Award (DE), A-Design Award (I), DNA Paris Design Awards (FR), LICC London Creative Competition (UK), German Design Award (DE), Green GOOD DESIGN Award (US), a national nomination to the MIES VAN DER ROHE AWARD for European Architecture, and many others.
His work has been published in over 50 books and hundreds of magazines on five continents and exhibited in many countries. He is a jury member in international competitions and initiator and curator of the Design that Educates Awards.

Solar Skywalks Energetic Activation of Footbridges by Peter Kuczia World's metropolises - like Beijing - have a large number of footbridges traversing busy traffic arteries. They are often unattractive, downgrading the overall urban impression. Designers' idea of cladding the footbridges with aesthetic, power generating PV modules and transforming them into attractive city spots is not only sustainable but creates a sculptural diversity that becomes an eye-catcher in the cityscape. E-car or E-bike charging stations under the footbridges utilize the solar energy directly on site.

Solar Veloroute Multifunctional Photovoltaic Structure by Peter Kuczia The idea of covering the bicycle routes with "Veloroutes" - the aesthetic, electricity generating photovoltaic canopies and transforming them into attractive landscape structures is not only sustainable, but creates a kind of sculptural variety that becomes an architectural symbol for the change from gas-powered cars to more sustainable ways of mobility. Just one Kilometer of the “Veloroute” could provide around 2000 MWh of electricity and could power 750 households or provide electricity for more than 1.000 electric cars driving 11.000 Kilometers per year.

Beach Cabin on the Baltic Sea Hospitality by Peter Kuczia This small diner on a Baltic Sea beach near Gdansk with its simple form fits naturally into the beach environment. The building offers two areas: an opaque part with windows and a fully glazed winter garden. The transparent glass house not only offers an unrestricted view of the sea and the beach but also uses solar energy in a passive way to improve indoor comfort in a relatively cool climate in northern Poland. The Solarlux system construction of the winter garden with its slim wood-aluminum profiles enables a filigree effect.

Solarlux Soundproof Space by Peter Kuczia Solarlux acoustic phone booth is a special type of phone booth that provides a private and soundproof space for phone calls or video conferencing in commercial buildings. It is a valuable tool for creating a private and productive working environment in shared spaces. A unique feature of this solution is its flexibility - the table and seat can be concealed in the wall. The booth can be easily disassembled and moved to another location. Almost exclusively sustainable and recyclable materials were used in the construction.
