NYC 2050 City Masterplan by Walmir Luz NYC 2050 is a city masterplan for New York City that responds to rising sea levels. The plan studies the history of the edge of Manhattan and shows how the city can adapt once again for the future. Flooding is accepted as part of daily urban life, with Venice used as a reference. The masterplan presents the changes needed for a flooded city to remain a vibrant and important cosmopolitan centre. The proposal is supported by research on climate predictions and is presented as a series of digital photo manipulations in a square format. Bauhaus Wrist Watch by Walmir Luz Bauhaus is a wristwatch designed with a minimal and bold appearance. The 41 millimeter case is made of surgical grade 316L stainless steel with a physical vapor deposition coating, which resists corrosion and scratches. A Seiko VD72 quartz movement with a date function is used, and the crown sets the date, the hours and the minutes. The water resistance rate is 5ATM, or 50 meters. The 20 millimeter strap has a quick release system for a fast change of style. Clean lines and a simple framework guide the whole design. All Mies Watch Packaging by Walmir Luz All Mies is a packaging design for wristwatches. The box is built from a series of cardstock layers with a timepiece cutout in the center, where the watch sits. A thin rubber band rests in small notches and holds the layers together. An outer cover encloses the core and is engraved with the brand identity. The cover can be slid off or opened from a back tab. When the rubber band is removed, the layers separate and reveal the watch. The layered form is inspired by topographic models used in model making. |
