Vincent Chiang's design philosophy is simple: to achieve balance between beauty, function and cost (including environmental). Born in Hong Kong, Chiang received a degree in interior architecture at Middlesex University London and went on to work in the R&D department of Steve Leung Designers after graduation. Leaving to co-found his own design firm, In Cube Design, Chiang has been a Professional Member of the International Interior Design Association and International Furnishings and Design Association since 2008. With more than 15 years' experience in interior design and project management, Chiang's strength is in space planning. He has handled over 300 interior design projects, including the series of Shanghai PoPo 360 and luxury houses in Hong Kong. If asked which is his favourite project, his reply is always 「the next one」.

Knot Knot Restaurant and Cafe by Vincent Chi-Wai Chiang Knot Knot is a Japanese and western dessert and cake cafe in Guangzhou, China, with an interior of 1400 square feet. The design is inspired by surreal art and turns the cafe into a small art gallery. Italian turquoise handmade tiles and a dark walnut doorframe mark the open entrance, which leads to the cake display area and a marble bar. Classic frames with paintings, woodcarving details, arch windows, two Roman columns and a chandelier are used throughout. Two metal flower racks bring outdoor planting inside. A mirror at the end of the space creates repeated reflections.

Ie Restaurant by Vincent Chi-Wai Chiang IE Sushi and Teppanyaki is a fine dining Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong. The interior combines Art Deco forms with Japanese details to create a new Oriental style. Sapele wood is used throughout, and each room has a different geometric pattern and decorative wood moulding to mark its zone. The sushi bar is pentagonal, with a diamond cut bulkhead whose reflected light eases the effect of the low ceiling. A metallic dragonfly lightbox conceals the ventilation system and serves as decoration. The balcony offers a quiet place for relaxation after the meal.

Beans Restaurant and Cafe by Vincent Chi-Wai Chiang Beans is a cafe and restaurant in Ma On Shan, Hong Kong, serving coffee, desserts and light meals. The interior covers 2263 square feet and has no windows, so the design takes the form of a crystal cave. Reflective surfaces and warm lighting brighten the space and reduce the feeling of enclosure. A waving stainless steel surface forms a lake near the entrance ceiling, and narrow rocks are made by three-dimensional printing. A tree stands at the centre and grows toward the light. The dessert bar is placed near the entrance to ease ordering.
