Graduated in Product Design and Visual Communications, Cassiano Saldanha has been a multidisciplinary designer, acting as graphic designer, art director and creative lead for the past 22 years, creating award winning work for brands such as Nike, Google, Dove, Netflix, Schweppes, MasterCard, Adidas, IBM, Levis, Motorola, AIG, PepsiCo, LG, and Intel. Since his schools days he kept developing furniture and product design ideas. In 2015 he joined Apple as a Creative Lead for Latin America and the Caribbean. Recently his furniture design work has been recognized as award winning at the International A’Design Award Competition.

Modello 09 Chair by Cassiano Saldanha Brazilian Modernism and Tropicalismo in a geometric body. With straight lines and congruous construction, Modello 09 holds a suspension design that creates an illusionary loop connecting seat, legs, back and arms in a distinctive manner. Built in solid Burmese hardwood teak, brass and cane webbing, the manufacturing process uniquely embraces marks and bruises as badges of honor of natural materials.

Book Chair by Cassiano Saldanha Book is a chair that can also hold and display an open book. The design is a sculptural study in geometry and symmetry, and each angle is carefully calculated. Book is made of solid white oak and European walnut. A central oak disc anchors the frame where three angled legs converge. Four brass rods relieve tension at key junctions and add stability. Every surface is hand finished with natural oils, which give a matte texture and keep the feel of the wood. The seat height is 450 millimeters.

Desafinado Bench by Cassiano Saldanha Desafinado is a bench designed as a study in balance and restraint. The form follows Scandinavian clarity, with straight lines and simple geometry, combined with the weight and directness of Brazilian brutalist modernism. Low proportions invite a relaxed posture, and the split between seat and back creates visual tension. A deliberate overhang balances the seat and the back in opposite directions. The bench is made almost entirely of European oak with a black stain, and a thin hand-stitched cushion in Brazilian saddle leather completes the seat.
