I was born in Jiangsu,China. I was influenced by the traditional culture of my hometown. When I grew up, I went to Korea to study. I just graduated from Seoul National University, majoring in design. I’m very interested in the areas like Graphic / Typographic / Newmedia.

Kinetic Chinese Characters Typography by LI XINLIN Kinetic Chinese Characters is a series of sixteen kinetic typography works based on the components of Chinese characters. Each work has a different subject and is produced purely through computer programming and algorithms, using Processing. The addition of generative technology makes the once fixed timeline of the characters variable and the results unpredictable. A short appreciation essay accompanies each work, following the Asian tradition of presenting poetry and painting together. The series shows how kinetic design can be applied to Chinese characters.
