Altempo is a team of two senior researchers and two alumni, creators of new configurations, interpreters of fundamental concepts such as innovation, changing and sustainability, in order to improve people's lives. Altempo is based on the hermeneutic methodology and comes from the Italian expression to introduce a correction or clarify an idea. Altempo Research Design Group makes use of a strategy that requires to constantly diagnose the situations, helping companies to develop singular products and services carriers of meaning, with the spirit of a place, considering time, space, circumstances, and human nature.

Shatron Mute for Trumpet by Liliana Soares Shatron is a modular mute for the trumpet. The mute softens and warms the tone, producing sounds that are less strident in the high register than those of metal mutes. The support structure is made by three dimensional printing with a polymeric filament reinforced with carbon fiber, which gives rigidity and durability. Ten wooden panels of different densities form the walls, so the sound can be adjusted to the player. The wood comes from small offcuts of furniture production that are usually discarded. The form follows the pyramidal roofs of early Russian churches.
