Yan Yan is an award winning interdisciplinary designer whose passion lies in observing and criticizing social landscape through building artifacts and narratives with critical thinking. Design is the truth she uses to explore the world and observe the internal universe. Her works are expanding experimental possibilities and fictionalizing certain scenarios to address contemporary social behavior. Through a systematic and hypothetico lens, her works inspire contemplation and empower her audience to reflect. She received a MFA in design from California College of the Arts. Currently she works as a Product Designer at Captiv8. Her projects have won the Indigo Design Competition Gold Award, the Novum Design Competition Silver Award and the A' Design Award, and have been invited to exhibit around the world, including London Artill Gallery, Rome International Art Fair, etc.

Anonymousociety Social Critique Design by Yan Yan Anonymousociety is a social critique design project. In this project. Yan Yan created a non-existent secret organization named Anonymousociety. Anonymousociety wants to create a safe house where people can hide from the spotlights, escape from the attention, and let go of themselves. While creating this project, Yan Yan was using a mockumentary perspective to document the existence of Anonymousociety. This series of design works include a fan-made website, a magazine, a set of instructions and flyers etc.

Nemoo Physical Memory Capture System by Yan Yan Nemoo is a physical memory capture system designed for fighting against infantile amnesia. It assists with tracking a baby's memory from its perspective for the first three years of its life. It also allows retrieving the important moments in the baby’s growth by playback with virtual reality glasses. The system consists of a baby wearable device, app, and virtual reality glasses. Nemoo wants to build a connection between childhood memory and future self, to help users know themselves better and retrieve the lost childhood.
