Founded in 2015, Make It Works Ltd. is an all-in-one design firm by Johnny Shum, who had immersed in retail store planning and project management with world-known fashion brands for over a decade, together with a team of passionate and talented designers to strive for a better lifestyle through be-spoke spatial design.



From tailored interior designs, consultancy, engineering to project management, MIW is always the one-stop to our clients. Our philosophy “WHAT is More” leads the team always go beyond clients’ expectations. With ‘WHAT’, which stands for “Wisdom, Horizons, Ability and Transcendence”, MIW strike for the best balance between creativity and practicality to transform homes, offices and retail stores into tailor-fit spaces.

MIW believes Design is a recursive journey between Creativity & Practicality, with the loop reflected in the company name and philosophy prefixes – MIW & WIM. In doing so the studio is devoted to make every space the best one to their clients with space advancement and visual artistry.

Horace Suite Residential Apartment by Make It Works Horace suite demonstrated a transform of an old Hong Kong home to a modern living space. All partitioning was taken down and was reconstructed to fit re-arranged zones. The project was set to provide large, transformable space to suit different uses and occasions. The open kitchen was surrounded by grid windows, allowed sunlight to penetrate into the premise in all ways. Appliances and storages were concealed inside wall and cabinets for visual cleanness. Made use of white paint, maple wood and concrete plaster on large surfaces, the project promotes a balance between functions and comfort.

Make It Wow Design Office by Make It Works Make It Wow Office seamlessly combines space, style, and innovation, integrating smart systems, adjustable lighting, movable partitions, an open pantry hub, strategic storage solutions, and advanced production technology. The result is a visually appealing and functional workspace that enhances efficiency and fosters collaboration. With careful material selection and attention to detail, including neutral-tone plaster, coral ceramic tiles, and brass accents, the office exemplifies company's dedication to creating outstanding environments. It transforms the way people work and interact.
